Those representing agriculture on Capitol Hill are busy wrapping up business for 2020 and planning for 2021. In an interview with the Red River Farm Network, American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall said building a bridge is important with a new administration. “It is going to be our job to educate people who are new to this administration and don’t know us (Farm Bureau),” said Duvall. “Helping them build a bridge helps both of us move forward with policy that will compliment American agriculture.” In the meantime, organizations like Farm Bureau will be focused on the lame duck session of Congress. The next coronavirus assistance package, along with farm labor, trade and more, are top priorities. Duvall will be in South Dakota this week and speak more on policy priorities at the South Dakota Farm Bureau Convention in Rapid City. Hear more from Duvall in this interview.
