In North Dakota’s District 20, three farmers were elected to office. Jared Hagert of Emerado and Mike Beltz of Hillsboro won their House races and Randy Lemm of Hillsboro took the Senate seat. According to Hagert, economic growth and infrastructure are priorities. “In Traill County, a few bridges need repairs. We also need to set priorities on how to move forward on getting those up to snuff. It’s a big thing for agriculture producers who farm on both sides of the river and people in the district.” There’s work to be done before the Legislature convenes on January 5. “This week, we have the House Republican caucus organizational meetings,” said Hagert. “After that, we have a re-organizational session in Bismarck around December, where we get committee assignments set up so we can move forward.”
