The speculation now begins on who will lead the House Agriculture Committee. “When it comes to the House Ag Committee, it’s better in our world if the new leader has production similar to North Dakota like corn, soybean, wheat and beef,” said Mark Watne, president, North Dakota Farmers Union. “We actually maintain a lot of strength in the Senate working with Senator Hoeven, who chairs the Ag Appropriations Committee. That’s a feather in our cap because he’s been successful in delivering to the farmers and ranchers across our state.” Watne has more on the election outcomes and gearing up for the state legislative session in this Red River Farm Network interview.
