Advance Trading Commodity Research Analyst Brian Basting expects grain traders to wait for a fresh start after the elections on Tuesday. “Not only could we know what the political climate will look like on Wednesday morning, but we’ll also start a new weather market. The South American weather market is just starting and farmers are in the planting stage. It’s critical this year the corn and soybean crops are great to meet the demand and give a cushion.” Basting says there’s other things that could happen when soybeans get planted late. “The U.S. window for exports could remain open longer than we would have normally seen.”
