As harvest continues in the Red River Valley, NoKota Packers CEO Carissa Olsen says the fresh potatoes coming into the plant are for the most part, good quality. “We’ve been seeing some skinning of the potatoes where field conditions are drier, but we’re hoping for a good rain to help improve digging conditions.” The Buxton, North Dakota-based packing plant is about two-thirds full. “Harvest is moving along well, but there are a few waiting for some rain. Field conditions are definitely better than last year.”
