Barley is now on the list of eligible commodities the first round of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program. Previously, only malting barley was considered for the program. If an application was submitted for non-malting barley and declined, a farmer must submit a new application. If a farmer’s first CFAP application was approved already for other crops and they also grow barley, they do not need to resubmit a new application. However, those farmers should contact their local FSA office for the full details. Those interested have until October 9 to make the adjustment. Download the CFAP application here.
