Chris Hong, who farms at Buxton, North Dakota, started his dry bean harvest a week and a half ago. Considering the wet conditions, the dry bean yields are decent. In the pre-pile sugarbeet harvest, Hong is pleased with the yields, but hopes to see the sugar content improve. The moisture has been the story in the central Red River Valley. “We did some tiling a couple weeks ago. We got down six feet and the water was still running. We are so saturated, it is unbelievable.”
