A Japanese company is buying Diversified Crop Insurance Services, which is the crop insurance business unit for Consolidated Grain and Barge. Sompo Holdings is one of the largest crop insurance providers in the world and is expected to pay approximately $400 million for Diversified. Sompo already owns another U.S. crop insurance company, ARMtech. The deal is expected to be finalized in the fourth quarter.
