U.S. Commodities President Don Roose says grain traders will be watching crop condition closely with most expecting another drop in crop condition this afternoon. “We’re adding risk premium to the market until we can stabilize this crop. That stabilization will come from rain, but we have a lot of areas where it will be too late. We really needed a rain two to three weeks ago to help the crops,” explains Roose. “There’s a lot of maturity going on. We expect the crop ratings to go down one to two percent on corn and soybeans.”
