Negotiations between the Trump Administration and congressional leaders over the next round of coronavirus assistance have stalled. This COVID relief package will likely be folded into legislation to keep the government running. A continuing resolution is needed by the end of September when the current fiscal year comes to a close. Election-year politics are a backdrop to these negotiations with neither side wanting to give any leverage to their opponents.
