East of Stephen, Minnesota farmer Craig Halfmann finished pre-pile sugarbeet harvest Tuesday. “The crop has been all over the board. The first field we dug, we had a lot of drowned out and root rot. Then, when we got to higher ground, the crop was better. Then, we moved home and it’s the same thing here. In the high spots, the sugarbeets look nice. In the lower spots, there’s disease in the sugarbeets.”
