Tyson Foods finished the third quarter with earnings of $527 million. That’s down from $676 million one year ago. The 22 percent decline in profits was influenced by additional costs for safety equipment, pay raises for workers, plant shutdowns and other pandemic-related expenses. Tyson President Dean Banks, who will take over as CEO in October, said he doesn’t expect a full recovery until restaurant sales increase.
