Farm production expenditures in the U.S. totaled $358 billion in 2019. That’s up from $354 billion in 2018. Total farm costs averaged nearly $178,000. The dollars spent on crop production declined a fraction of one percent year-over-year. The biggest cost items for crop farms are labor, rent and farm services. Feed is the biggest expense for livestock farms.
