The 2020 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee released a final scientific report this week. The report is the foundation for developing the 2020 through 2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans. In the report, the committee said fruit, vegetable and whole grain intake is lower than current recommendations and alcohol intake is increasing in the United States. The report also takes a closer look at added sugars. Public comments will be accepted on the report through August 13. The public will also be able to provide oral comments in a public meeting on August 11. Read the committee report.
