The Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee has released its draft report with federal nutrition recommendations. The report calls for higher consumption of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meat and low-or-nonfat dairy products. Americans are being told to reduce consumption of red and processed meats, sugar-sweetened foods and drinks and refined grains. A final report will now be submitted to USDA and Health and Human Services.
