Bayer is abandoning plans to build a $1 billion dicamba plant in Louisiana. The production of the XtendiMax herbicide will continue at a different plant in Iowa. Bayer officials said this decision is unrelated to the latest court decision vacating the registration of the dicamba products. Bayer says it still supports the use of dicamba, but the investment in the project is less attractive due to global overcapacity in the production of the weedkiller.
