The Agricultural Retailers Association is corresponding with the Environmental Protection Agency seeking clarification about the dicamba cancellation order. CEO Daren Coppock said there has been no feedback about compliance. “We’ve asked the EPA questions about pre-paying inventory and those kinds of things. We’ve also asked how commercial applicators will be defined and what that means. There’s a lot of gray area in there that people are trying to interpret.” After this spraying season is done, Coppock said the discussion shifts to next year. “We’ll try to have a more orderly process and predictability so whichever way that registration decision goes, growers should make their plans and buy the right seed. Manufacturers also need to make sure the right product is available in 2021.”
