Congressional lawmakers are starting to focus on the next economic stimulus package. South Dakota Senator John Thune said House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson is working on something to help farmers and ranchers, but Thune wouldn’t give specifics. “It’s innovative. He’s trying to pitch it to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. I’ll see how successful he is and we look forward to working with him. The plan is pretty bold and aggressive in terms of what he wants to accomplish.” On Friday, National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow said formal negotiations on the next coronavirus relief package won’t resume until late May or early June, but the administration continues to have informal conversations with lawmakers.
