Commodity Weather Group meteorologist Joel Widenor says another shot of cold air could happen in the second week of May. “I don’t think it will bring additional frost to areas that don’t see it the first week of May, but it could bring another morning or two close to freezing levels.” Widenor is expecting some frost damage. “That’s our concern in some areas getting down near southern South Dakota and southern Minnesota. Some of the emerged corn could get nipped by the cold shot and replanting could happen.”
