North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum outlined proposed 2021-2023 budget guidelines on Friday, saying the budget cuts will range from five-to-15 percent based on the size of the agency. There will also be cuts for higher education. “What we’re asking for in the cuts is to not cut the highest performing, most impactful and visible thing. What we’re asking for is to cut the bottom five to ten percent,” said Burgum. “The part of government that doesn’t serve citizens, maybe creates unnecessary red tape and costs.
