The USDA will be purchasing a combined total of $300 million each month in dairy, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables for food banks. In the next two weeks, the USDA will be taking proposals to supply commodity boxes to non-profit organizations. The USDA will award contracts for product purchases, assembly and delivery.
