The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has extended the open comment period regarding the Line 3 Replacement Project until April 10. Telephone town hall meetings are also scheduled for public input, including a session Tuesday and Thursday. Minnesota Ag Energy Alliance spokesperson Chris Tiedeman says Enbridge expects to begin construction on this project later this year. “This is a $2.6 billion private investment in Minnesota,” said Tiedeman. “As soon as we get through this coronavirus scare, we’re going to need this kind of investment to kick-start our economy.” Tiedeman says Line 3 will also take pressure off of the current transportation system, which is beneficial for agriculture.
