The Minnesota Agriculture Rural Leadership program recently returned from an international seminar in Cambodia and Taiwan. Ada, Minnesota farmer and MARL class ten participant Austen Germolus says there is a huge opportunity for U.S. agriculture in Cambodia. “It’s a smaller-sized country with about 8 million people,” says Germolus. “They are growing their aquaculture industry, so there is huge potential there for U.S. soybeans. As the Cambodian population grows, there is also more potential for meat products, small grains and also corn.” The U.S. is a large exporter of red meat products to Taiwan, which was the second stop on the MARL seminar. Germolus shares more of those details in the full RRFN interview.
