On Thursday, the National Weather Service will release another spring flood outlook. Based in Grand Forks, Warning Coordination Meteorologist Greg Gust says the warmer than normal conditions expected this month will have an impact. “The temperature regime we’re seeing could quite possibly get the snowmelt going so we can see rivers starting to ramp up. Stay tuned, the last part of March could get interesting.” Gust says moisture remains in the snowpack. “As you get south of Fargo, there are areas getting more open in fields. There are areas where the snow is perhaps melting down enough to see runoff, with a little bit maybe soaking into the soil.”
