Conversations about calving were had at the Aberdeen Ag Expo. South Dakota State University Extension veterinarian Dr. Russ Daly says now is the time where miscarriages may occur. “We want to make sure there isn’t a situation we can do something about. Once we see more than one or two of the same type of miscarriage, then it’s time to look at getting some diagnostics done.” Once calves are on the ground, Daly says the next focus for cattle producers should be scours season. “No matter what the cause of the scours is, getting electrolytes into those calves can really help them.” Hear more in the full RRFN interview.
