After a tough harvest, grain bin safety is top of mind when moving less than ideal grain out of a bin. Upper Midwest Ag Safety and Health Center or UMASH outreach coordinator Megan Schossow is seeing a higher than usual number of grain bin and silo incidents and offers some prevention tips. “In the event someone has to enter a grain bin, it’s critical farmers don’t go in alone. Work in pairs so if something happens there is someone to get help. Also, lock out and tag out every time.”
