The U.S. is looking at other countries for sugar following a challenging sugarbeet harvest in 2019. The U.S. Trade Representative will reallocate unused raw sugar tariff rate quotas from countries that haven’t shipped complete allocations to countries that may be able to deliver. The U.S. Trade Representative is expected to add about 70,000 tons of sugar imports.
