One of the biggest unknowns for farmers is what spring will bring. Some farmers have crops that need to be harvested. They want to know how soon they can get back into fields. NDSU Extension Agronomist Joel Ransom says patience is key. “I’d be more concerned about planting early than I would be fertilizing early, getting the crop in and worrying about fertilizer later if we end up with a long, cold and wet spring.” Ransom was part of the Best of the Best in Wheat and Soybean Research.
