Agricultural labor continues to be a focus for the custom harvesters. U.S. Custom Harvesters Incorporated President J.C. Schemper says new ag labor laws are adding more burden for custom harvesters. “The definition of agriculture labor is they want to put our H-2A workers in combines, choppers or grain carts, but don’t want them to drive our trucks. If we can’t use these guys to transport grain to market or transport combines, carts, trackers and choppers across state lines, who will do it? It’s not productive to do it one at a time. We need to keep our laws currently going so we can use our guys for help.”
