NDSU Extension and University of Minnesota Extension potato agronomist Andy Robinson is expecting a compressed planting window for potatoes. Robinson says emergence will likely be faster because of the warmer soils with late planting. “Warmer soils mean quick emergence. A plant is like a big solar panel. The more light energy you can harvest, the more that can be produced for yield.”
