The USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has been awarded more than $10 million for disease prevention and emergency response training. With this money, USDA is moving forward with the development of a national animal vaccine bank. Currently, the U.S. does not have enough FMD vaccine to deal with an outbreak. The first priority is to build those inventories.
