The Minnesota Crop Improvement Association Annual Meeting will be held Wednesday in Fergus Falls. There will be updates on hybrid wheat and a report from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture. Minnesota Crop Improvement Association President/CEO Fawad Shah says there will also be a roundtable discussion about cover crop seed. “We have six speakers lined up from state and federal government and other state certification agencies; they are going to talk about the education and enforcement mechanism for cover crop seed.” With the amount of prevented plant acres, some farmers did not know Plant Variety Protection laws applied to cover crop seed. Shah the roundtable discussion will highlight the options for growers.
