Traders will be cautiously watching the January 10 USDA Supply and Demand report. INTL FCStone market analyst Mark Lucas says it will be tough to get final numbers with the amount of corn still in the field. “Overall, there’s a little bit of a negative bias that USDA will find more bushels. USDA counts bushels in the field as bushels on farm storage. Those numbers are iffy.” Lucas also says we won’t know the full size of this year’s crop until late spring or early summer. “It will be April or May before we have a better idea of the real number. Light test weight corn still has unknowns.”
