Crop insurance additions for sunflowers have been approved by the USDA Risk Management Agency. In 2020, farmers will have coverage for losses due to Sclerotinia bodies and dark rust in medium seed size varieties bred specifically for hulling. The additional coverage was requested by the National Sunflower Association.
