The markets, weather and crop production issues are all on the agenda at the Northern Ag Expo. The event is all about helping farmers wrap up this year and planning for the next. “Farmers and, in particular, ag dealers that work with farmers on a direct basis are dealing with concerns and with supply/demand issues,” says Gary Knutson, executive director, North Dakota Agricultural Association. “There are so many issues up in the air, that’s why we’d like to think the timing of the show is as good as can be.” Knutson says one highlight will be a session on current USDA farm programs, featuring Deputy Administrator Bill Beam and North Dakota Farm Service Agency Executive Director Brad Thykeson. “They’ll talk about the year ahead and any tweaks to programs. I think both farmers and those who work with them will welcome the opportunity for some one-on-one dialogue.” The expo takes place December 3 and 4 in Fargo. Check out the schedule.
