President Donald Trump has signed a bill that supports the pro-democracy protesters in Hong Kong. China’s foreign ministry did not want that to happen, saying the U.S. shouldn’t interfere with China’s internal affairs. This action will complicate the trade negotiations between the U.S. and China. Meanwhile, Politico is reporting the two countries are very close to finishing phase one of the trade deal, which concentrates on agricultural trade. There is speculation an agreement could be announced soon after the Thanksgiving weekend.
