40 Square Cooperative Solutions has extended the open enrollment period for farmers and ag businesses considering a new health care plan. “We have open enrollment through December 31 this year,” said Char Vrieze, executive director, 40 Square Cooperative Solutions. “Last year, it was the second or third week of December. This year we know what farmers and ag-related businesses have gone through this fall and we extended the deadline. 40 Square, which is available in Minnesota, was created for farmers and ag workers who don’t have the benefit of a group plan. This cooperative venture uses the Preferred One provider network. “If the provider in the Preferred One network into North Dakota or South Dakota, it would be considered in the network and would be covered under 40 Square.”
