Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation delegates moved through resolutions quickly on Friday. In state policy, the tax status of buffers and water quality regulations continue to be top-of-mind. “Every time we have to work with agencies or regulatory things, we end up with complications,” said Bennett Osmonson, a delegate from Gully, Minnesota. “Opening up the door and trying to reform things that are impacting agriculture is an important part of our organization.” In addition to regulations, delegates took position on possible gas taxes, managing the grey wolf and the health and well-being of farmers. Minnesota Farm Bureau Vice-President Dan Glessing chairs the resolutions committee. “It’s good to see the updated language for rural and mental health.” Following state resolutions, MFBF delegates focused on national policy priorities like Waters of the United States, agricultural labor and endangered species.
