Roy E. Abbott Futures President Roy Abbott says the corn market is finding a little support from export sales and the slow harvest pace. “I would expect if the corn is left in the field over the winter it would lose quite a bit of yield by doing so. Some people think we could lose 10 to 20 percent of the crop left in the field. That should be supportive. We’re also competitive with South American corn for the first time in a long time.”Abbott does not expect a big move higher.
