The first half of the spring wheat harvest went well, but the balance of the season in North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota was hurt by wet weather and quality problems. WestBred global wheat commercial strategy lead Jeff Koscelny does not expect that to be an issue for the 2020 seed supply. “A lot of our producers got the crop out early and they good quality and good supply.” The full picture will be known once the crop is cleaned and tested for germination. With the combination of Bayer and Monsanto this past year, incentives are available for growers utilizing specific crop protection and seed treatment products. “In addition, we are running a special program in North Dakota and Minnesota that if you purchase WestBred and treat in-season with Prosaro, we’ll reward you on your WestBred purchase as well.”
