World Weather Incorporated Senior Agricultural Meteorologist Drew Lerner says there may not be many warm days for harvest in the short term for the Northern Plains. “I think we’ll warm up on Friday and go right back into the cold. Once we go back into the cold, we’ll be there awhile,” says Lerner. “A long stretch of warm weather isn’t likely until the early days of November.” Lerner tells farmers not to give up hope. “The weather will snap around a little bit with less precipitation as we get into November. There will be opportunity for improvement,” says Lerner. “When we get good weather, farmers can take the opportunity, even if the ground isn’t ideal. Take advantage of every break you can find.” Listen to the latest weather updates.
