Minnesota Senator Tina Smith has been meeting with ag lenders about the current farm economy. “As one friend in farming said to me you can’t take your patriotism to the bank,” said Smith. “As I talk to farmers and lenders, they are really worried about what is going to be in store over the next few months.” Smith says these issues are very complex and impact every farm in a different way. “What I worry about the most are the younger farmers who don’t have a lot of equity built up.”
