Traders expect to see Chinese demand for pork continue to increase as pork supplies dwindle due to the impact of African Swine Fever. Zaner Group Ag Hedge Lead Ted Seifried says the growing optimism is supporting the lean hog market. “We’ve always been optimistic about much bigger pork exports. We’ve been manifesting that into deferred months. Now, we’re getting the idea this could happen sooner rather than later. We’re seeing more of a typical bull spread now.”
