Efforts are underway to include language in the continuing resolution to help the U.S. Department of Agriculture move forward with the Market Facilitation Program payments. That’s according to House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson, Livestock Subcommittee Chairman Jim Costa and General Farm Commodities Subcommittee Chairman Filemon Vela. In a statement, the group says the upcoming continuing resolution should allow the USDA access to the $30 billion in spending from the Commodity Credit Corporation prior to October 1.
