The corn near Lake Benton, Minnesota is just starting to dent. That’s according to farmer Bob Worth. “The corn is 50 to 60 percent dented. We only planted corn on May 15,” says Worth. “Corn in the area that’s planted later is in the later milk stage.” The crop needs warm days, but that’s not in the forecast. Up to 2.5 inches of rain is in the forecast this week for the upper Midwest and Northern Plains. “Our growing degree units are always a little bit behind, because of our location. Even for us, we are 250 growing degree units behind normal. That’s a lot for us.”
