During a stop on the Red River Farm Network Crop Tour, presented by Pioneer, McArthur Seed Co. LLC owner Jordan McArthur says the Munich area went into planting very dry and remained dry for much of the growing season. “We didn’t catch much for rain. It’s been dry throughout the summer. We’ll take what we can get now to help the corn and soybeans fill.” Recent rains are helping with pod fill in the soybeans and the early corn is beginning to dent. “The early varieties are filled pretty much to the end, but the early varieties aren’t filled much. The later varieties, up to an 83 day, has a long way to go.”
