Westlake Harvesting owner Allen Westlake is finished harvesting in southwestern South Dakota. Westlake says the South Dakota crop was good, but conditions were tough. “The crop looks pretty good. The quality is pretty good, but it’s late. There’s a lot of delays.” Westlake is just getting started in the Crookston, Minnesota area and he’s seeing crop damage. “It seems like we have a lot of sawfly north of Highway 2 that impacted the crop. There’s not much you can do, but we can cut it on the ground. As more time goes by, the worse it gets.”
