New Energy Blue, a Boston-based company, plans to build and operate a biomass refinery in the Spiritwood Energy Park near Jamestown. The refinery will produce 16 million gallons of ethanol annually using 230,00 tons of wheat and barley straw and corn stover. According to the company, the business will add $15 to $30 million back to local farmers and generate around $80 million in revenue annually. Groundbreaking is slated for 2020.
