In the latest U.S. drought monitor, abnormally dry conditions are expanding across Iowa, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio. The last 30 days brought only 10 to 50 percent of normal rainfall across central Iowa through east central Illinois and parts of western Indiana. There are also areas of Iowa and Illinois approaching the D1 or moderately dry conditions.
