Greentown, Indiana farmer Brad Downing says corn and soybeans are still three weeks behind schedule. “In the interim, we’ve made up about two weeks of growing, but we still have corn that’s way behind. The soybeans planted in late June are way behind.” Downing says there are worst conditions about thirty miles away, with soybeans in the R1 to R3 growth stage in the same field. Then, there’s also the challenges of prevent planting. “We’ve seen a lot of ground from north central Indiana to southwest Ohio getting planted to cover crops.”
